Multimedia Software

As its name implies, multimedia software includes several types of media that are interlinked with each other in a software package.

The software plays a significant role in classrooms as it boosts creativity and helps students to express themselves, encourages student engagement by ‘talking their language’ and facilitates collaboration between students and their teachers.

Students may discover unknown talents using graphic design software, or gain confidence when encouraged to present their work via a video or audio file. Some students may even emerge as natural leaders when working with peers on collaborative projects. By giving students the tools they need to be engaged in their studies, they will often achieve higher academic grades and take ownership of their learning.

Multimedia editing software like Corel Graphics Suite is used by students to complete assignments that call for creativity and originality. The Corel software allows students to draw vector illustrations in their art and design classes, create precise schematics and assembly instructions in their engineering subjects and edit photos on their photography course. The flexibility of having one package with a wealth of design opportunities makes rolling the software out across the whole educational facility easy.

Other multimedia software such as Magix can be used to create engaging presentations using video and audio content made within the program. Magix includes tools for students to create music files or optimise existing MP3 files to make their assignments more engaging or their presentation more appealing. The software also allows students to creative immersive slide shows by adding artistic fades and music, and photos can be edited with different elements and effects allowing students to present a video they will be proud to show off.

Douglas Stewart has been working with multimedia software vendors such as Magix and Corel for over 15 years. During this time the companies have built a close and trustworthy relationship that can be passed on to resellers and end users who choose to work with Douglas Stewart.
